Avocado

Avocado

Avocado’s used to be given a bad rap as yes they are high in fat, but they are high in the really good fat of the monounsaturated kind.  They also have good amounts of protein and carbohydrate too.

Avocado is fairly high in all the B vitamins (besides B12), vitamin C, Vitamins A and E.  They are rich in potassium and contain good levels of magnesium, iron and manganese.  Avocado is a natural source of lecithin which is a great brain food and the fat is well digested compared to most fatty foods.  They are also high in copper.

They can assist with ulcers, beautify the skin and aid in red blood cell formation.
Avocado is a great replacement when making non-dairy foods for the creamy texture. They are versatile in that they can be used for sweet and savoury.
