Walnuts
Walnuts
These remarkable nuts grow on large trees around various parts of the world which grow as high as 40 to 50 feet tall! Most well known are walnuts from California.
Walnuts look like the human brain when shelled which is interesting as they are a good brain food. The fatty acids and 10-15% protein nourish the nervous system. They are 80-90% fat, but a good fat! Walnuts also contain good amounts of Vitamin A, B vitamins, C and E and have good amounts of minerals similar to other nuts but are particularly high in iron and potassium.
Walnuts can be eaten raw, baked into just about anything, added to salads, added to home-made pizzas, you can use walnut oil on your salads. Your imagination is your only limit with these tasty nuts.
Walnuts are best stored in the fridge (as are all nuts).
