Who doesn’t love fresh raspberries?! Its their season now its December! Did you know they are very closely related to the blackberry?
Raspberries can benefit the liver and kidneys, enriches and cleanses the blood of toxins, treats anameia, excessive and frequent urination (especially at night), benefits vision and regulates the menstrual cycle.
Many people would be familar with raspberry leaf tea for pregnancy. It can help strengthen and tonify the uterus with supporting hormonal patterns during pregnancy.
Fresh raspberries are high in vitamin C, abundant in minerals calcium, magnesium and iron!! They have a great range of phytonutrients too!
They are versatile and can be used in sweet and savoury dishes! Eat them fresh, add them to salads, home made healthy muffins, blend into smoothies, make a dressing or sauce with them.
They are also cheaper at this time of year! Organic is best and if choosing frozen, definitely go for organic as there have been very recent reports of some frozen brands having restricted pesticides (not allowed in Australian framing) in them as they are from overseas countries. But enjoy them now!
