Sugar Snap Peas
Sugar snap peas
Check out the picture of my own garden grown sugar snap peas! They can be eaten raw in salads or with dips, cooked in stir fries, steamed with other vegetables, the peas can be eaten separately or just eat the whole pod as its not as tough as a garden pea pod. Snap peas were developed by an American who crossed the regular garden pea with a snow pea. Eaten raw they have good vitamin C content (heating destroys vitamin C). They are a good source of iron, fibre, B vitamins and vitamin A.
