Cauliflower
Cauliflower has some very similar properties to broccoli as it is part of the cruciferous Brassica family – See here
Like broccoli it has around the same amount of protein, also can help reduce liver stagnancy and improve liver function.
Cauliflower can be beneficial when there is a fever and chills, dry cough and sore throat and nasal discharge. Particularly helpful as a soup!
Cauliflower has antioxidants and sulfur compounds which can have antibacterial and antiviral characteristics.
Eaten raw it also has high levels of vitamin C and folate.
Look for the purple, green and orange varieties and not just the boring old white one for extra antioxidants and to make the plate more colourful. The green one pictured is called Romanesco Broccoli, but is a type of cauliflower.
