My Daily Ritual

I once used to drink a fair bit of coffee, but for about 13 years now I have not had coffee.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the smell of a fresh brew, but my body didn’t do well with coffee, so I listened.

My latest daily ritual instead of coffee is making my own chocolate dandy chai.

2 teaspoons chai spice (no black tea)
1 teaspoon dandelion root (sometimes on it’s own or roasted with chicory)
2 teaspoons raw cacao
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (use any milk of choice)

  1. Put everything except for the cacao into a saucepan.  Bring up to the boil.  Just as it’s about to boil remove from heat.
  2. Put cacao in your cup/mug.
  3. Pour through a sieve your chai mixture into your cup.
  4. Sit for a few minutes and then mix vigorously.  Sitting for a few minutes allows the cacao powder to mix through better.
  5. Have some time out and enjoy this delicious goodness.
