Chocolate Date Balls

I usually make this recipe into balls, but my youngest son wanted to use my small flan tins instead of balls.  I then added some extra yumminess on top to make them a little bit more special.

But as bliss balls they are still as delicious and super easy.

Ingredients:

2 cups almonds

2 cups dates

1/2 cup cacao

2 Tablespoons coconut oil

  1. Soak almonds and dates in a bowl of boiling water for 20-60 minutes.  the longer you the soak them the easier they’ll be to blend.
  2. Drain almonds and dates and put in a food processor with the cacao and coconut oil.  Blend until quite a paste and almonds are very well chopped up.
  3. Either press into flan tins or roll into balls.  If rolling into balls you can roll them in desiccated coconut, cacao powder or anything you like.  Or leave plain.
  4. Put in the fridge until ready to eat.
  5. I added some berry coconut yoghurt and fresh raspberries to my flan to make it a little bit more decadent!
