Wombok
Wombok
Also known as Chinese cabbage, Wombok is one of my favourite ingredients to add to stir fries. It has a mild sweet flavor so that it can be used to replace any other cabbage. It’s great in coleslaws and salads.
Wombok is quite high in Vitamin A and calcium, vitamin C, iron and phosphorus.
Wombok are believed to be a cross between bok choy and turnips and because they are closely related to the broccoli (being a member of the brassia family), they contain sulfur compounds which can be beneficial for the cardiovascular system.
Wanting to get more cabbage in your diet but find some of them a bit intense in flavor? Then give Wombok a go.
