Did you know? Healthy fats = Healthy Brain

Yes there are some very bad fats, especially if they are consumed too regularly such as saturated fats, but especially trans fats!  But did you know there are also many good fats?  And did you know that your brain is the fattiest organ in our bodies!!??  The human brain is made of 60% fat and that is one of the reasons fish oils (a great fat) is so beneficial for brain health!

So in the list are nuts, seeds, avocado, coconut oil, olive oil, flaxseed oil, fish oil – pretty much most vegetable based oils except for ones just calling themselves “vegetable oil” – who knows where that comes from.  Also eggs, soybeans and sunflower seeds have good fats especially lethicin which can help brain health.  All coconut products give us good fats too, even though they are considered saturated fats they are made of different fatty acids which are actually really beneficial for us.  A bit of good quality butter isn’t all that bad either, just not in excess.
